This condition is caused by a pathological enlargement of the arteriovenous vascular cushion. It is exacerbated by weak connective tissue, but also by a diet low in fiber and a lack of exercise in everyday life. People with irregular bowel movements or chronic constipation are particularly often affected.

Depending on the severity of your condition (Stages I-IV) and your specific symptoms, various treatment options are available. If the disease is in its early stages, conservative therapy with medication often provides significant relief. If your condition is advanced, I recommend a surgical approach tailored to your individual needs and symptom profile. Surgical procedures such as Milligan-Morgan, HAL, or HAL-RAR are employed in these cases.

Anal abscesses are typically painful and develop when glands become blocked and encapsulated, leading to inflammation. Prompt relief is achieved by incising and draining the abscess. The wounds usually heal very well within a few days.

Anal fissures occur when the mucous membrane around the anus tears. Affected individuals experience this as very painful – especially during defecation. The recommended therapy depends on your specific symptoms. Sometimes, a change in dietary habits or treatment with anti-inflammatory ointments can provide relief.
